One of the things that I have been proud of over the years is listening to the pulse of the community and also making sure that what I do is for the best of the community. I also believe that I have taken fast action to quickly correct mistakes or to fix problems. Yesterday, we announced that the ROC Cup would be in July and not in October when it is usually held. The community overwelmingly objected to this due to short notice and plans already made. Today we will rectify this. I believe in turning negatives into positives and we are going to do exactly that. The Cup will remain in October one more year (sort of, keep reading) and is now scheduled for October 24th thru 27th. Based on information from Wizkids (they have been great and extremely helpful) and player input, I believe this is what is best for our community.
Next year, ROC Cup East will remain in Huntsville Alabama but will take place in April. ROC Cup West will become the new ROCtober and will be held at a place to be determined in of couse, October. 2019 Second half States/Provinces will occur in the fall and will be announced after we get Worlds dates from WizKids. (It's coming guys and real soon) First half States/Provinces for 2020 is planned for March but could change to accomodate WKO scheduling. 2020 Second half States/Provinces will occur in July. I have been working with WizKids and togther we pretty much have next year planned out. I think going forward you will see a difference in planning and notifications of events. WizKids listens and they know what needs to be done. It just takes a while sometimes and there are obstacles in the way that no one knows about.
I sincerly aopoligize for dropping a bomb on some of your plans yesterday. I also apologize to some of you that were making plans for July and were excited about the prospect. AND I do know there were some of you doing just that. I think though that we will all agree that this is what is best for our community.
