Over the past 18 years, thousands of us have grown to love this crazy little game with plastic super heroes, flying across a paper map and teaming up in ways that we never thought were possible. We’ve been to tournaments, local events, and even the grandest stage in the land, but over time the game has started to lose its grasp on the community. How do we as a player base work to overcome such hurdles?

Rebuilding the game, we know and love, is a grossly undervalued part of what makes this experience so special. This is because it takes special people to go out of their way to push boundaries, take risks, and bring people together to help restore Heroclix to its former glory. Welcome one and all, to the Heroclix Community Spotlight.

This week I got the pleasure of playing a game of Heroclix with Happy Little Heroclix's Devon Adams! Devon and I have known echother for a few years now through events he judges down in Omaha Nebraska at Krypton Comics and games. Devon is the head judge down there, and the Sioux Falls crowd likes to gather as many bodies as possible every time they host a WKO or states level event. Devon and I have shared numorous conversations about teams, goofy interactions, random Heroclix, life, and the universe whenever we get a chance to catch up.

For those of you new to Devon, he runs a youtube channel (Link below) by the name of Happy Little Heroclix. Here, Devon takes his own personal twist on team builds, ideas, and Heroclix in general. Devon has some fun video ideas that he gets a laugh out of me each time he uploads. Watch his Exospex video to figure out what I mean!

If you are new to Heroclix, Devon's channel is a great mix of Competative, Casual, and Informative clix that many of us strive to keep the balance of. I highly recommend checking his channel out, dropping a like and clicking the subscribe button.

I sat down and played a game of Heroclix with Devon. I wanted to move forward from the chess this time to see if clix would work properly. I aimed to keep the game as fun and light as possible so we could focus on the conversation. I asked Devon what his favorite named keyword was, and he replied "Sinestro Corps." I thought "This should be fun!" and set out to build us both teams that would mesh semi well vs eachother. To watch our game and hear our conversation, Click the link below!
